IN RE: The Bolsheviki Movement in America: Union of Russian Workers-Anarchists-Communists, First Branch of Socialists-Bolsheviki, etc.: Summary Report
by Anatol L. Rodau
Special Employee, US Dept. of Justice Bureau of Investigation
A 58 page internal report written for the Department of Justice on the emerging Bolshevik movement in the United States, consisting of the Anarchist-Communist Union of Russian Workers (established in 1908) and their rivals of the Russian Socialist Federation of the Socialist Party of America.
Coverage of the URW is particularly strong. The organization was decimated by systematic raids conducted on Nov. 7, 1919, a precursor to the so-called "Palmer Raids" of Jan. 1/2, 1920 conducted against the Communist movement.
Report of a US government employee made during the conduct of his employment, public domain.
